Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) has revealed the best sellers of the Black Friday weekend, and surprisingly the company’s own devices, the Fire tablet and the Fire TV stick were the top sellers. Amazon shares are up sharply in Tuesday, after the company’s announcements.
As usual after the Black Friday weekend, Amazon did not reveal any specific numbers or estimates, and instead announced that sales of the TV stick were up more than 6 times comparing to the famous shopping weekend last year, and the tablet sales sold three times more.
In addition, the Amazon Echo, a new voice-activated device which will play music at your command, answer questions if you board, and announce weather report if someone is too last to check online, was the bestselling product among all products over $100.
As was expected online shopping stole the spotlight once again, as early data revealed that significantly more customers were shopping online rather in actual stores, causing further worries regarding the future of retailers.
As for Cyber Monday, IBM’s (NYSE:IBM) Watson Trend data has shown that sales continued on increase on the relatively recent tradition of additional discounts on Monday, showing growth in sales of 17.8% of last year’s Cyber Monday.
