Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) introduced the new generation of iPhone an Apple Watch at its annual event in San Francisco on Wednesday.
Apple CEO Tim said that the new model is the “best iPhone we’re ever created.” The biggest change in iPhone 7 is that the headphone jack is eliminated. In instead, the new devices will be shipped wit a Lightning to 3.5-millimeter headphone jack adapter or you can buy the new product: AirPods — wireless headphones that look like the buds of the regular Apple headphones but cordless.
"The reason to move on [is] courage," said Apple's Phil Schiller in revealing the change. "The courage to move on, do something new that betters all of us."
The other features of the new iPhone included water- and dust-resistant, a new home button that doesn’t physically click, stereo speakers, a bit longer-lasting battery, a fancy phone cameras and two new black color.
The iPhone 7 will have an upgraded camera while the larger iPhone 7 Plus will feature two rear cameras: one has a wide-angle lens and the other has a telephoto lens.
The new iPhone will be available for pre-orders on Friday starting at $649 for the iPhone 7 and $769 for the iPhone 7 Plus. It will be shipping ion Sept. 16.
The tech giant also revealed the new version of Apple Watch called the Apple Watch Series 2. It promises to be water-resistant up to 50 meters and will include built-in GPS functionality. It will be released on September 16 with a starting price of $369.
Another taking away is that Apple is partner with Nintendo to bring Super Mario into iOS devices. Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto announced that Super Mario is coming to the App Store. Niantic CEO John Hanke also said that “Pokemon Go” is coming to the Apple Watch.
