Two technology companies and auto tech suppliers Delphi Automotive (NYSE: DLPH) and Mobileye (NYSE: MBLY) have announced of a partnership, the goal of which is to co-develop the market's first turnkey fully autonomous driving system by late 2019.
The system, which they intent to sell to automakers once it is completed, will be easy to integrate into the vehicles in production. Of course the module will include a steering wheel and pedals, which will allow drivers to take control of the vehicle if they want to or when necessary.
The two companies are popular suppliers of various parts and systems to many automakers around the world. Both have declined to mention if they have any specific clients for the new planned autonomous driving system.
