Google Pay, Google’s new online payment service, combined Google Wallet and Android Pay, has officially rolled out with a new app on Android mobile devices, as Google announced earlier this year.
Android phone users now can find the Google Pay app on the Google Play store. If you have the Android Pay app on your phone already, all you have to do it wait for the update to hit, as Google Pay has already replaced the Android Pay app, and you will see the changes that Google has made to the app with the rebranding.
Highlights of this new integrated app include a “Home” tab with recent purchases and nearby stores, and a “Cards” tab to see all of the credit, debit and gift cards you have on file. Just like the Android Pay before it, users will be able to use cards and payment information stored in Google Pay across a wide variety of apps and websites when using an Android device or Chrome, too.
Google is still working on unifying its service from Google Wallet directly into the Google Pay app for both the US and UK markets.
Even though Google Pay is functionally similar to Android Pay and Google Wallet, the decision to combine multiple services and products into a single app is still a welcome change for Android users.
