Oklahoma will soon be home to a new KISS themed casino. According to the latest reports, KISS members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are in talks with Kaw Nation to build a casino in the town of Braman, located close to the Kansas state line.
The casino will be called the Rock and Brews Casino, keeping in line with the existing Rock& Brews restaurant chain, which is also owned and operated by Stanley and Simmons. In an interview with FOX Business, Simmons had mentioned that the casino would offer a completely different experience for patrons.
This is also the first time the band members have ventured into the casino business and according to Kaw Nation Chairwoman, Jacque Secondine Hensley, the partnership with Rock & Brews will help Kaw Nation re-establish itself as a top entertainment and gaming destination.
The Rock & Brews restaurant chain is known for combining the sports bar and micro-brewery atmosphere with the comfort food dining experience. This theme is likely to continue in the new casino. However, instead of sports, the screens will show classic rock bands in concert.
Rock & Brews, as a concept, has always been seen as adaptable to the casino business and this is where the idea is said to have taken root.
The KISS themed casino isn’t going to be a small project. An artist’s conceptual rendering of the casino shows a tall skyscraper and a series of L shaped buildings. The hotel will likely be housed in the skyscraper.
For Kaw Nation, which is already a big name in the Oklahoma casino scene, the new casino will serve as an opportunity to expand beyond its existing boundaries by leveraging the Rock & Brews brand. Currently, Kaw Nation serves the 3500 Kanza people who reside in and around Oklahoma.
Though it is the first time that KISS members are taking part in running a casino, the band’s name has been associated with gambling in the recent past. In 2014, WMS Gaming had launched a KISS themed slot that was installed across 14 land based casinos in Vegas.
