Kohl’s (NYSE: KSS) announced on Tuesday that they will begin accepting Amazon returns at certain U.S. locations where all eligible items will be packed and shipped back to an Amazon fulfillment center for free. Customers will also be able to use designated parking spots near store entrances for Amazon returns. After this announcement, Kohl’s shares jumped more than 2% in premarket hours.
The Amazon return service will be available next month at 82 Kohl’s stores in Los Angeles and Chicago. Amazon has also launched a similar service where customers can return purchases made on their website at more than 400 available stores.
This new service is a great way to lure shoppers into stores to make a return where they might later shop in Kohl’s stores. This can definitely increase foot traffic and can help improve frequency and can potentially drive higher sales in their stores.
Amazon has also recently made a deal with Sears aiming to sell more of their appliances and those with Alexa capabilities through Amazon.
