Tesla Motors (NASDAQ:TSLA) has revealed a new cool feature, which turns your Tesla car into an even more of a robot. The CEO of Tesla and the coolest billionaire Elon Musk, explained that in two to three years it will be possible to electronically summon the Tesla car from anywhere to anywhere, and the car will drive itself to your location.
The example Elon Musk used was that the car will be able to drive from New York to Los Angeles by itself. While fascinating, the idea of an electric car driving with no driver across the country raises a few questions. Like who will charge the car? Tesla has a solution. Charging the car may not require humans. Last August the company introduced the snake-like automatic charging system, which is designed to find and connect automatically to the car. This thing is both fascinating and a little creepy by Elon Musk’s own admission who said, “We will try to make it look less creepy… It’s sort of fascinating in its creepiness. We will probably roll it out first in the Superchargers, and see how that goes.”
Of course the New York to Los Angeles example is a little extreme, and was really meant to impress. On a more particle note Tesla also said, “Once you arrive home and exit Model S or Model X, you can prompt it to do the rest: open your garage door, enter your garage, park itself, and shut down…In the morning, you wake up, walk out the front door, and summon your car. It will open the garage door and come to greet you.” Now, this is exciting.
