Clothing retailer American Eagle Outfitters (NYSE: AEO) will begin selling hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD) infused personal care products supplied by Green Growth Brands (OTC: GGBXF) in nearly 500 of its stores and online. Sales are expected to begin this October.
“We are very pleased to be partnering with American Eagle, a leader in the specialty retail space,” said Green Growth Brands CEO, Peter Horvath. “GGB provided the expertise necessary to develop the product formulations and packaging to create a really special line of products.” Green Growth said the products, which include lotions and aromatherapy, were exclusively developed for American Eagle.
The purchase order represents Green Growth’s third major wholesale agreement since the passage of the 2018 farm bill which removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act. Last month the Company expanded its partnership with American Eagle rival, Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE: ANF). After testing Green Growth’s botanical therapy products in 10 stores, Abercrombie decided it will now carry the CBD products in over 160 locations. The expansion includes CBD-infused body lotions, muscle balms, lip balms and sugar scrubs from Green Growth’s Seventh Sense brand.
In addition to its unique partnerships, Green Growth is accessing prime real estate of its own within shopping malls. Earlier in the year Green Growth entered into an agreement to expand its Seventh Sense branded products into 108 shop locations in Simon Property Group (NYSE: SPG) owned malls. In June, the Company secured 70 shop locations at Brookfield Properties’ (NASDAQ: BPY) shopping centers throughout the U.S. Green Growth said it expects to close out 2019 with 280 total locations.
