Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) Hops on to the ‘Phablet’ Trend

Apple, Smartphone, The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) will be working on their new iPhone models which will be sporting 4.5 inches and 5 inches displays. The new displays will be significantly larger than its current iPhone 5s model which have a 4 inch display. The upcoming models will be comparable to the Samsung Galaxy S2 (4.5 inches) and Samsung Galaxy S4 (5 inches).

Like the iPhone 5s and most of the previous models, the new models will continue to have an all metal frame. It seems as if the iPhone 5c’s plastic construction will be short lived. It’s no surprise, as sales for the 5c were disappointing, and was not the ‘affordable’ phone many consumers had anticipated for.

With Apple’s huge deal with China Mobile and the high demand for ‘Phablet’ size phones in Asia, its only logical Apple will follow the growing demand for larger sized smartphones. As of now, all of this information is unconfirmed, and while it may seem likely for Apple to make this move, we have yet to see a huge transition in their devices.
