Building Engines, the leading building operations platform for modern commercial real estate (CRE), today announced the company has been recognized at the Eighth Annual Real Estate Tech Awards (RETAS) as a runner up in the Mature Growth category. The award is presented by CREtech (cretech.com), the world’s leading community of professionals devoted to technological innovation in the real estate sector.
Building Engines was recognized for the value its flagship platform, Prism, provides—helping commercial real estate owners and operators deliver an exceptional experience for all building occupants, while maximizing profitability and efficiency. Officially launched in September 2020, Prism by Building Engines is the most innovative, modern building operations platform available today. Unlike other property management or operations solutions, the Prism platform has an open architecture with APIs built in to integrate existing IT ecosystems.
“The last eighteen-plus months have presented unprecedented challenges for the commercial real estate industry. Our priority has been to address new pain points and needs for our property owner and operator customers as they bring tenants back into their buildings,” said Tim Curran, CEO of Building Engines. “We have a 20-year track record of delivering building operations excellence coupled with industry-leading innovation, helping our customers adapt as the CRE industry—and the world in which it operates—continues to transform. We’re honored to be recognized by CREtech, Colliers and the esteemed panel of judges for the work we did, and continue to do, to help our customers make smarter, data-driven business decisions and keep their buildings operating effectively and efficiently.”
In 2021, Prism addressed several pressing pain points for the industry, including ramifications from the pandemic. To do this, Building Engines joined forces with complementary technology providers to ensure property owners have the tools they need to bring their tenants back to a safe office space that meets their likely changed needs. For example, Building Engines recently partnered with HqO, an end-to-end tenant experience provider for office buildings. The Building Engines-HqO integration combines key tenant-facing capabilities for submitting work orders, visitor access requests and resource reservations, all with the goal of providing a complete mobile solution package for owners and operators to offer their tenants.
Building Engines also acquired two companies this year to build out its platform and better meet operations needs. The company acquired Ravti, an innovative software company for HVAC management, which now serves as the backbone of a new HVAC management module in Prism. With Ravti, owners, operators and tenants can better manage HVAC systems with a complete inventory view of all the equipment throughout their CRE properties. Building Engines also acquired LogCheck, a best-of-breed application that helps streamline rounds, inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
Sponsored by Colliers, the Real Estate Tech Awards are the leading international awards honoring excellence in commercial real estate tech. The awards recognize the most cutting-edge companies who have played an integral role in advancing tech in the industry throughout the year. Backed by the leading voices and thought leaders in the commercial real estate tech industry, the awards were open to startups or technology companies servicing the industry.
Building Engines was selected as a runner up by the #RETAS elite panel of judges, including the leading VC’s, Angel Investors, and Corporate Investors and Thought Leaders in the commercial real estate tech industry.
