CVS Health Set to Hire 25,000 Employees

CVS Health (NYSE: CVS) revealed Monday that it is looking to hire approxiamtley 25,000 clinical and retail workers as it prepares for the upcoming flu season and to administer Covid-19 booster shots. The majority of available positions are for full-time, part-time and temporary licensed pharmacists, trained pharmacy technicians and nurses.

“Every flu season we need additional team members,” said Neela Montgomery, Executive Vice President, CVS Health and President, CVS Pharmacy, “but this year we’re looking for even more. With the continued presence of COVID-19 in our communities, we’re estimating a much greater need for pharmacists, trained pharmacy technicians, nurses, and retail store associates. These jobs offer a rewarding opportunity to really make an impact on public health in our country.”

The retail corporation recently raised its workers minimum hourly wage amid the continuous labor shortage within the United States. Similarly, competitors such as Walgreens and other pharmacies have also increased their minimum wage.

Furthermore, many pharmacies, including CVS, plan to administer Covid-19 boosters which in turn should increase traffic from November to January. The expected surge in customers is putting pressure on companies to hire and hold their employees.

The entire hiring process will be virtual and there will be no available on-site applications or interviews. Candidates interested in applying can visit the CVS Health Career Website for further information regarding jobs in a nearby location.
