DISH Network Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH) and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: QCOM) have reported their collaboration to test open and virtualized RAN 5G solutions that have new Qualcomm 5G RAN platforms to fast track DISH’s rollout of the nation’s first open RAN compliant 5G network. DISH’s network vendors and device partners will utilize Qualcomm’s 5G RAN Platforms. The platforms will allow emerging network vendors to accelerate deployment and commercialization of vRAN and interoperable networks to deliver wide array of uses and opportunities for 5G.
