Fiat Chrysler (NYSE:FCAU) just revealed its new pickup model -the Ram 1500 TRX, anticipated to be the fastest accelerating truck on the market by any automotive company.
The Ram 1500 TRX will be on sale before the year ends, set to be priced at USD71,690, with the expectation of differentiating the vehicle from any Chevrolet or Ford model. Due to its high speed off-road feature, the TRX will go up against Ford’s well known 450-horsepower Raptor. With its large supercharged V8 the Ram is built to generate significantly more power than the Raptor’s turbocharged V6.
“The all-new Ram 1500 TRX is by far the quickest, fastest, most powerful truck in the world,” according to Mike Koval, head of Ram for Fiat Chrysler North America.
Fiat Chrysler has stated that the TRX has the capacity to go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds. Making it the fastest quickest pickup currently available, as stated by Car and Driver. Additionally, the vehicle has a more prominent outer design compared to similar models as well as a custom interior that includes a 12- inch vertical touchscreen and 7-inch driver information cluster.
Furthermore, a limited “Launch Edition” will be available for sale at USD92,000.
“We designed this truck bolt by bolt to significantly outperform every other truck,” Koval said.
According to Koval, the unique design of the pickup was executed to attract new customers for the brand, adding to the company’s fruitful pickup sales. However, Koval did not disclose sales expectations.
