Golds Gym and FitnessGenes Revolutionize Personal Training

Gold’s
Gym, the world’s trusted fitness authority, and FitnessGenes,
the industry pioneer in fitness genomics launch the world’s first
personal training programs based on DNA interpretation and expert
oversight. Launching in Gold’s Hollywood and Glendale locations this
revolutionary partnership furthers both Gold’s Gym’s and FitnessGenes’
commitment to physique and health enhancement through personalized
training and nutrition.

FitnessGenes recently received the world’s first formal education
approval for their fitness genomics education program from the American
Council on Exercise (ACE),
National Academy of Sports medicine (NASM)
and the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).
Commenting on this milestone, FitnessGenes says, “Gold’s Gym is the
perfect place to launch the next fitness revolution.”

Twelve of Gold’s Elite Personal Trainers and Nutritionists received
Continuing Education Credits for the FitnessGenes Pro
course and are now certified to develop genetically tailored exercise
and nutrition programs for their clients using FitnessGenes DNA insights
and recommendations. See a preview of the program in
this video on the Gold’s SoCal YouTube page.

Consumers can now buy their FitnessGenes test kit in these two Gold’s
locations, and once FitnessGenes has completed the genetic analysis,
both the consumer and trainer are informed of the results. The Gold’s
Elite Trainer then customizes FitnessGenes’ recommendations to account
for any injuries, dietary preferences, and other lifestyle data to
create the ultimate personalized training and nutrition plan for their
clients. The $299 launch offer includes the FitnessGenes DNA Analysis
and two 30-minute sessions with a certified Gold’s Gym,
FitnessGenes Pro Certified Trainer.

Dr. Dan Reardon, CEO and co-founder of FitnessGenes, says, “For more
than 50 years, Gold’s has been shaping the fitness landscape. Now,
by using the precise data that only FitnessGenes can provide, we’ll be
able to help Gold’s trainers and their clients achieve much higher
levels of success. Using the combination of genetic data and
one-to-one expert oversight enables the FitnessGenes Pro trainers
put their clients on a straight-line to success.”

Roman Chavez, Director of Fitness Education for Gold’s Gym SoCal,
underscores the alignment of the two brands, “Our fitness
professionals strive to provide the most progressive, individualized,
results-driven programs for our clients. FitnessGenes provides a
personalized foundation that enhances our holistic approach to improving
our members’ lives. Gold’s Gym SoCal is excited to partner with
FitnessGenes.”

About FitnessGenes

FitnessGenes is the first DNA-testing platform of its kind to eliminate
the guesswork from fitness and nutrition. With a consumer-friendly DNA
kit and an intricate analysis of 700,000 gene variations, the team of
genetic scientists reveals specific traits including metabolic
tendencies, dietary sensitivities, fat burning capacity, muscle type,
recovery time and more. FitnessGenes then prescribes personalized,
week-by-week exercise programs and nutritional guides based on the users
genetic and lifestyle profile. FitnessGenes extraction and laboratory
work is performed by the Erasmus consortia launched by Illumina (NASDAQ:
ILMN), the global leader in DNA sequencing to bring its latest
genotyping array into healthcare, translational research and consumer
genomics. For more information, visit www.fitnessgenes.com
