Handshake Acquires Talentspace

Talent network Handshake just announced the acquisition of recruiting platform Talentspace. Talentspace was designed to fuel recruiting events for big-name companies such as Amazon and Porsche and is set to strengthen Handshakes series of events while also powering its expansion into Europe. The move is Handshake’s first acquisition.

“As Handshake’s first-ever acquisition, Talentspace will strengthen our suite of virtual event offerings and accelerate our entry beyond our UK office and into the larger continental Europe,” said Garrett Lord, founder, and chief executive officer of Handshake. “Together, we can help jobseekers build relationships with employers and skills that translate to better career outcomes and economic mobility.”

Handshake experienced a USD200 million Series F in January that valued it at USD3.5 Billion. Moreover, the company also reached USD100 Million in annual continual revenue.

The talent network helps students build credibility and obtain jobs through recruiters, and led to 1.7 million connections in 2021. Furthermore, the company has reeled in 21 million students to its platform, coming from over 1,400 educational institutions.

“Handshake’s incredible success underscores the long-term staying power of virtual networking and career events,” said Marco Eylert, co-founder of Talentspace. “We are excited to help the team deepen their innovative product set and deliver on our shared mission to expand access to opportunity in Europe.”
