Microsoft and Qcells Report Alliance to Power Clean Energy Economy

Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) and Qcells have announced a commitment to be carbon negative by 2030. They have partnered to enable a strong supply chain for new renewable electricity capacity projects to require a minimum of 2.5 gigawatts of solar panels and related services. Potentially powering 400,000 homes. Microsoft has made a commitment to purchase renewable energy with a goal of achieving 100% coverage of electricity consumption with renewable energy by 2025. Microsoft supports Qcells’ solar products including those manufactured domestically to bring more renewable energy to the grid.
