Moana garners over $81 million on Thanksgiving weekend

Disney (WALT) Co. (HOLDING COMPANY) (NYSE:DIS) released “Moana”, the day before thanksgiving. The animated film reported to have garnered over $81 million, taking second place for the top domestic box office over thanksgiving weekend opening of all time. The company trails behind “Frozen” which netted over $93 million back in 2013.

The film conjured over $55 million on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The film was highly praised by critics and audiences alike. Moana holds a 98 percent fresh rating from Rotten Tomatoes. Some critics are even claiming that Moana is “Disney’s best movie in decades.”

Co-written by Ron Clements, and Co-directed by John Musker. Two important individuals that had a huge impact in The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Hercules. Although this is their first feature-length computer-animated movie, they know what it takes to make a great animated film.
