Pathline Expands Medical Team, Appoints Three New Physicians

Pathline, a leading provider of specialized anatomic pathology services, has expanded its team with a new Chief Medical Officer, Director of Hematopathology and Molecular Pathology and Senior Pathologist. The recently appointed physicians include:

  • Gregory S. Henderson, M.D., Ph.D., F.C.A.P., F.A.S.C.P. – Chief Medical Officer
  • Bevan Tandon, M.D. – Director of Hematopathology and Molecular Pathology
  • Douglas Charney, M.D. – Senior Pathologist

“Doctors Henderson, Tandon and Charney all bring unique, extensive experience to Pathline, and we are pleased to add them to our medical team of board-certified pathologists and Ph.D. level scientists,” said Frank Moser, CEO of Pathline.

Dr. Henderson has been with Pathline since 2018 and was recently appointed Chief Medical Officer. He is the former Vice Chairman of Outreach Pathology and Laboratory Medicine for the Mount Sinai Health System in New York and former President of BioReference Laboratories. He is a Past President of the American Pathology Foundation. Dr. Henderson is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Medical School, where he received both an M.D. and a Ph.D. in immunology. He completed residencies at Johns Hopkins Hospital, University of Utah and ARUP Reference Laboratories and fellowship training in breast and gynecologic pathology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. In 2006, Dr. Henderson was the first recipient of the Distinguished Patient Care Award bestowed by College of American Pathologists.

Joining Pathline as Director of Hematopathology and Molecular Pathology, Dr. Tandon holds American Board of Pathology subspecialty board certifications in both Molecular Genetic Pathology and Hematopathology, while his general certifications are in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Prior to joining Pathline, Dr. Tandon served as Director of Cancer Genomics at BioReference Laboratories. Dr. Tandon’s training in hematopathology consisted of an intensive fellowship and clinical instructorship at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine under the guidance of WHO Guidelines lead author Dr. Steven H. Swerdlow, M.D. His training in molecular genetic pathology was conducted at Washington University School of Medicine St. Louis, and he completed his general residency training at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Tandon is an active member of the Society for Hematopathology and the Association for Molecular Pathology.

Dr. Charney comes to Pathline as Senior Pathologist. Previously, he was Assistant Director at Laboratory Medicine Associates, LLP, at Montefiore Nyack Hospital in Nyack, New York. Dr. Charney received his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York, New York, where he served as Chief Resident in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Dr. Charney completed fellowship training in Renal Pathology and Immunopathology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Additionally, he is a nationally recognized expert in renal, anatomic pathology and immunopathology and has authored more than twenty publications. An active member of the Renal Pathology Society and College of American Pathologists, Dr. Charney is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
