Warren Buffett helps Promote Cherry Coke in China

Billionaire investor Warren Buffett’s likeness will appear on special edition Cherry Coke cans in China, helping to promote the launch.  According to Coca Cola Co. (NYSE: KO) website, the soft drink company got approval from Buffett to use his likeness on cans of Cherry Coke, which was launched in China on March 10.

"I can't think of a better way to launch Cherry Coke than with its best-known fan on the package," Coca-Cola Chairman and CEO Muhtar Kent said in a release. "It is an honor for us to be able to feature Warren on his favorite drink as it rolls out in one of the world's most exciting and dynamic consumer markets."

Buffett’s investment firm Berkshire Hathaway Inc. is Coca-Cola’s biggest shareholder, owning a 9.3 percent stake in the company.  Mr. Buffett has huge fans in China due to his successful investment experience. More and more Chinese investors come to Omaha for Berkshire’s annual meeting. Last year, more than 3,000 Chinese investors traveled to the meeting and the webcast of meeting only had translation in Mandarin.

"I can't think of a better way to launch Cherry Coke than with its best-known fan on the package," said Muhtar Kent, Coca-Cola chairman and chief executive.
